Taiwan Adventures: Kenting

I'm such a lazy bum sobsssssss. I've no idea what took me so long to do this since I got to Kaohsiung in September. Exchange being exchange, I'm enjoying it wheeeeee :) Lessons have been pretty ok till now, other than the fact that communication breakdown do occur on a regular basis here. Looking at how the accountancy students are studying for their upcoming test, I'm really dreading studying labour law in chinese too........

Backtrack to our 3D2N trip to Kenting in September (damn long ago) with the housemates! It was pretty much an impromptu trip because we were all still in the midst of settling down into the house but we still decided to go ahead with it. And I'm so glad we did! Kenting was so freaking awesome! I really really really love this place ^^

So glad we hired a driver to bring us around for all 3 days, which totally made this trip so much more worthwhile and not-so-tiring. The driver drove us from our doorstep in Kaohsiung to Kenting and back, brought us to so many awesome places in Kenting and...... treated us bubbletea (hehehe).

This was our first stop after lunch on the first day, ATV!!!!! *screams* For the price we paid, this was super worth it. YY and I went on a double one where we both took turns to drive. I stalled the ATV once but this was still super fun. And the area we driving around had this magnificent view omg.......

 JUST.LOOK.THIS.VIEW.WOAHHHHHHHHHH.

The driver brought us to many other places with those typical wallpaper scenery too. Bridge, stones, sand, beaches.... It was beautiful nonetheless :)

Catching sunset. It's funny how we're always catching sunsets while in Taiwan.

The second highlight of the trip was snorkeling!!!! I've never done snorkeling before (1st failed attempt in Bintan because the water was too murky and 2nd failed attempt at adventure cove because I was down with food poisoning) so this was super fun for me! The fishes looked extremely pretty upclose :') We also did banana boat where we all fell into the water at the end of the round!

The ugly suits we had to put on to snorkel hehe

And this sums up our trip to Kenting :) It was fun while it lasted hehe.

Greetings from Taiwan!

It has been a week plus since I reached Kaohsiung, and life has been so different and crazily tiring! I'm still in the midst of settling down while doing so many other things at the same time (eg. school, travelling, housing). There's just so so so many things I'm picking up every single day and I'm really thankful for this opportunity to be able experience this for myself :')

I'm so determined to make this exchange trip a worthwhile, enjoyable and unforgettable one!

Of course, I'm missing all my family, boyfriend and friends back at home xx

My Dining Experience: Strangers' Reunion

After my 4th and last dental follow-up appointment today, SA and I headed to Strangers' Reunion for our late lunch date. We were starving by the time we reached, so glad we got a table immediately! I really liked the interior of the cafe as well, other than the shaky chair I was sitting on hehehe (too fat).

Our cup of magic. That's really the name of the coffee we ordered - said to have some sort of magic ratio of coffee to milk.

Yummy eggs florentine which I enjoyed. I love the combination of poached eggs and smoked salmon, especially when I can't have raw salmon sashimi now. I ate more of this while SA had most of the other dish we ordered.

Eggs and bacon ciabatta. The relish accompanying this was good, and there were lots and lots of crispy bacon! SA started off eating this with the fork and knife, but towards the end he just used his hands hahaha.

Buttermilk waffles with artisan greek yoghurt - THE YUMMIEST WAFFLES I HAD IN A LONG TIME. It tasted as good as it looked - soft and fluffy waffles with yoghurt, honey and fruits (omg yumzzz). SA and I shared this as our dessert and we really really enjoyed this. I think I'm gonna crave for this soon!!

My (greedy) boyfriend and I! So glad he managed to squeeze some time for me despite his busy schedule these days. I'm definitely gonna miss pigging out with SA when I'm in Taiwan.

5 more days till I leave!

Let it go

" I let it go. It's like swimming against the current. It exhausts you. After a while, whoever you are, you just have to let go, and the river brings you home. " - Joanne Harris, Five Quarters of the Orange

Throughout these few years, I learned, I grew, I tried. Now, I'm letting it go. Afterall, the best thing one can do when it is raining is to let it rain, and learn to dance in the rain.

S.E.A. Aquarium

A couple of weeks ago when SA was back from his holiday, we decided to pay a visit to the fishes at S.E.A Aquarium! We were crazy enough to head there on a weekend, and so, we had to queue a pretty long time (more than an hour definitely) before we finally reached the attraction entrance. But technically our tickets were free (got it from SA's parents company event), so no complains!

We were greeted with all sorts of beautiful fishes when we entered the aquarium! And of course, all sorts of people too. I was getting pretty irritated with all the random tourists/locals sitting around doing nothing/leaning against the glass when the exhibits itself was already so damn crowded on a weekend. Thankfully, the aquarium is really huge so we kinda still had space to roam around! And not forgetting, a good company for the day, which made the trip so much more enjoyable too!

All the pretty fishes swimming around! There were so many fishes, like really sooooooo many. I particularly like it when schools of fishes swim past me at high speed!

Super pretty jellyfishes! They gave off this " I'm damn nua " vibe I instantly felt damn chillax after looking at them hehehe!

SA posing with the fishes at a not-so-crowded area! Can you spot dory too? :)

De de de de de de de de...... Shark attack! Hammerhead sharks are so cute please!

The both of us spent about an hour plus at S.E.A. aquarium taking pictures and observing the fishes. We didn't managed to touch any starfish or other sea creatures as well because the queue for those were really long. I'll probably not be back for another round of this. I'd rather head to other attractions in Sentosa I guess :)

" Love is like fishing. There are millions of them in the sea and it's easy to catch a fish. But it's hard to catch one that is truly a keeper. " - Unknown.

I'm glad I found mine :')
