Let it go

" I let it go. It's like swimming against the current. It exhausts you. After a while, whoever you are, you just have to let go, and the river brings you home. " - Joanne Harris, Five Quarters of the Orange

Throughout these few years, I learned, I grew, I tried. Now, I'm letting it go. Afterall, the best thing one can do when it is raining is to let it rain, and learn to dance in the rain.

S.E.A. Aquarium

A couple of weeks ago when SA was back from his holiday, we decided to pay a visit to the fishes at S.E.A Aquarium! We were crazy enough to head there on a weekend, and so, we had to queue a pretty long time (more than an hour definitely) before we finally reached the attraction entrance. But technically our tickets were free (got it from SA's parents company event), so no complains!

We were greeted with all sorts of beautiful fishes when we entered the aquarium! And of course, all sorts of people too. I was getting pretty irritated with all the random tourists/locals sitting around doing nothing/leaning against the glass when the exhibits itself was already so damn crowded on a weekend. Thankfully, the aquarium is really huge so we kinda still had space to roam around! And not forgetting, a good company for the day, which made the trip so much more enjoyable too!

All the pretty fishes swimming around! There were so many fishes, like really sooooooo many. I particularly like it when schools of fishes swim past me at high speed!

Super pretty jellyfishes! They gave off this " I'm damn nua " vibe I instantly felt damn chillax after looking at them hehehe!

SA posing with the fishes at a not-so-crowded area! Can you spot dory too? :)

De de de de de de de de...... Shark attack! Hammerhead sharks are so cute please!

The both of us spent about an hour plus at S.E.A. aquarium taking pictures and observing the fishes. We didn't managed to touch any starfish or other sea creatures as well because the queue for those were really long. I'll probably not be back for another round of this. I'd rather head to other attractions in Sentosa I guess :)

" Love is like fishing. There are millions of them in the sea and it's easy to catch a fish. But it's hard to catch one that is truly a keeper. " - Unknown.

I'm glad I found mine :')

My Dining Experience: Department of Caffeine (D.O.C.)

Here's a short one before I head to bed!

Made it to D.O.C. this afternoon with my loveliest yiyan for lunch. The journey to this cafe was an arduous one....... We got cheated by gothere.sg!!!! It was said that we had to alight at outram park MRT and get off exit H. That's a lie. It wasn't the most straightforward nor nearest route. At. All. We eventually found our way to the cafe using our trusty iPhone maps.

I didn't capture many photos at D.O.C., probably because I was too 1. hungry 2. dehydrated 3. tired (from all the walking). It was not too difficult to decide what to eat given their menu is pretty limited. I settled for a steak sandwich and iced coffee, while yiyan had a sundried tomato and herb waffles and flat white.

The only foodie picture I took (whoops). The sandwich did taste nicer than it looks though! The beef slices inside the sandwich was very flavourful, and the lettuce and onions in the sandwich did complement the taste of it too. But I did have a problem with the sandwich..... The bread was too difficult to cut. It was tiring trying to cut the pieces of bread into bite size and when yy was done with her waffles, I was only halfway through my sandwich. Eventually, when I was (finally) on my second half of the sandwich, I gave up on one side of the bread, poked the fork through the other, and started biting it off instead. Yiyan's waffles, on the other hand, was so much easier to eat! I also liked how there's both a sweet and savoury taste to this.

As for the cost, the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of food they are serving I would say. Oh, and they don't charge GST and service charge!! The price you see on the menu is really what you pay, which is great! :)

Ending off the post with a picture of yiyan and I after our lunch date, with D.O.C.'s toilet in the background (hahaha) That's all for now. Sleep tight everyone!!!

Wisdom tooth surgery

I mustered all the courage I can find within myself and got one wisdom tooth out yesterday! It was a crazy process..... I give myself countless of pats on my back!! Perhaps the only time I felt pain was when the dentist injected the anesthetic into my gums. But still.... It was scary!!! (at least to humji me) Throughout the whole extraction process, I was blindfolded so I couldn't see what was going on. But the drilling sound was pretty freaking! Wished the dentist gave me earplugs too lol. I was so glad when the whole process (which took about 40 minutes) ended!! Super thankful for my awesome dentist who was encouraging me throughout the whole surgery and my favourite boy for accompanying me to this war hehe.

Currently, I'm on antibiotics and anti swelling medicine to prevent myself from looking like a bazhang! I ditched the painkillers today woohoo~ The most annoying part of this is definitely the post surgery sigh. When I got home after the surgery yesterday, I couldn't really eat. So all I had was a pathetic bowl of porridge. Thank goodness my wound has stopped bleeding so I'm eating a little more today. My stomach, however, is still almost permanently hungry haha!! I'm hoping I can eat proper food by Thursday because it's gonna be a special day for someone special! :) *prays*

I also went to google the food people often eat after their wisdom tooth extraction and here are some:

1. Mashed Potatoes
I had some of these today yumzzz! This is such a good alternative to the boring porridge! :)

2. Smoothies
Can someone get me some smoothie king now? Till now I haven't gotten to try the drink, but I heard it's really good! And anyway, it's not advisable to use straws because of the pressure! And best if the smoothie is well blended too :)

3. Ice-scream (A.N.Y.T.I.M.E.)

4. "Cream of..." soup
I love creamy soup so this works for me too yayzzzz

Generally, it's always good to avoid solid food for the first few days when the stitches are all around to prevent the food from getting stuck. Even when the stitches are out, it's also necessary to clean the "hole" that forms as a result of the absence of a teeth after meals. Keeping the area clean helps to prevent dry sockets, which sound terribly painful and troublesome :( I'm hoping I don't get them!

Seriously, with three more wisdom teeth in my mouth now, I'm really hoping they wouldn't cause me any problems. But oh wells..... What are the chances?! Probably sooner or later, I'll have to get them out :(

BRB FINDING COURAGE NAOOOOOO.

My Dining Experience: Kith Cafe

I'm pretty excited to share my dining experience! I really do love eating (who doesn't), and it's seriously hard to watch my waistline (hehehe) especially when good food is seriously at every corner of this sunny island! #firstworldproblem indeed.

Kith Cafe has been one of those cafes I've always wanted to try because it's always appearing on my instagram! And I'm glad I finally got the chance to with one of my JC classmates - Yunqi! I still remember asking her where should we have lunch and she sent me a really long list of cafes on whatsapp, consisting of probably at least 30 cafes (really siao one hahaha).

We reached park mall at about 1.30pm thinking that the cafe should be a little less crowded since lunch hour was over... But NO, it was pretty packed! We got seated outdoors immediately, which I thought was good enough because many other customers who came shortly after us had to be placed on a waitlist that keeps getting longer. I didn't take any picture of the menu but we had a hard time choosing what to eat because they all looked so yummy! Eventually, we decided on two mains - big breakfast and crayfish linguine (to share) and a drink each!

Here's our drinks - iced caramel latte (left) and iced chocolate (right). Since we were sitting outdoor I guess it's reasonable all our drinks are iced! I couldn't really taste caramel in my latte, but the drink was still pretty decent. Yunqi's iced chocolate looked better than it tasted, IMO.

Here comes the big breakfast! YUM YUM IN MY TUM TUM I LOVE IT!!!! ^^ We had to choose the type of bread and eggs we wanted, and went ahead with brioche and scrambled eggs. Everything on this plate was so yummy!! I'm not really a bacon person but I finished my share of the bacon too (guilty).

Our second and last dish of the day - crayfish linguine! The taste was pretty refreshing I would say! I like how this dish contained asparagus, which did make me feel a little bit healthier hehe. The cafe was pretty generous with the amount of crayfish too!

Overall, I did enjoy my meal here at kith cafe! I also like how this branch is conveniently located at park mall, which is near dhoby ghaut mrt station. Satisfying meal I had today! *slurps*

B.A.C.K.

*******************************Drumrolls**********************************

I haven't been posting in a long while, and even when I was, I was never posting constantly. This is partly due to many reasons, such as 1. I'm not good with words, 2. The photos upload function on blogger is extremely slow and I don't know what to do (halp), and 3. I'm really too busy/lazy.

Now that internship is over and I'm spared from school for a little while longer, I'm back!! I don't think anyone gives a shit but, HI THERE! ^^

If there's really only 1 thing I can talk about now I would like to talk about my wisdom tooth extraction scheduled 1.5 weeks from now. Sighpie I'm seriously freaking out. While other brave souls choose to pluck all 4/2 wisdom teeth at 1 go, humji me will only be having 1 of them plucked out before I head over to Taiwan. Oh god, please let this stupid extraction be smooth and painless. And to my other 3 wisdom teeth there are slowly growing, please be nice and not cause any problems, at least for the next 6 months. WHY DO I HAVE FREAKING 4 WISDOM TEETH WHY OHHHHHHHH WHY.
